Celebrate Bisexuality Day

Officially called “Celebrate Bisexuality Day” is celebrated on September 23rd of each year. It is also known as Bi Pride Day, Bi Visibility Day, CBD and is celebrated in Australia, Germany, England, Japan and all corners of the world.

It’s a day for bi folk and their families, friends and supporters to recognize and celebrate bisexuality, bisexual history, bisexual community and culture, and the bisexual people in their lives. A lot of people will wear blue, pink, or purple to show support, because those are the colors of the bisexual flag.

The whole thing was started by Michael Page of Florida (who created the bi flag), Wendy Curry of Maine and Gigi Wilbur-Raven of Texas all of BiNet USA. September 23rd was the first time Celebrate Bisexuality was announced at the International Lesbian and Gay Association and the cross-country representatives of Mike, Wendy and Gigi were there to kick it off in 1990.
